Do Not Do Unto Others What You Do Not Want Others Do Unto You
This is the so called GOLDEN RULE that is stated in every ancient writing about behavioral precepts including the New Testament, Talmud, Koran, and The Analects of Confucius, and it's an Excellent Rule to live by.
If you do not want others experience the things that you don't like, then you too, should not do that to them for every human in this world seeks revenge.
